train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” (1 Tim 4:7b-8)

Psalm 1:2 his delight is in the law of the LORD,and on his law he meditates day and night.

Psalm 119:15 I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways.

To meditate is to actively recall to mind what you have learned from God’s Word. Here is a way to aid your meditation of the Word and even engage another believer with the same exercise.

  1. Review Sunday’s sermon. Read the passage that was preached last Sunday at your church. See if you can remember the text preached, the main point of that text, and the points of application made from that text.
  2. Send a short message to someone else who was at the same service and check what you remember from what they remember.
