Pray, thanking God for another Sunday to worship Him in unity with others whom He has redeemed from spiritual darkness and sin. Confess your sins to the Lord, rejoice in His forgiveness, and ask for His Spirit to work in us all today.

Good morning, and welcome to Living Hope Baptist Church. As we continue in this Lockdown, let us unite our hearts in worship of our God and Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

We have much to boast of in the Lord. Meditate on, and sing along with, this song to the praise of our Redeemer.

Pray with us,

Our Lord and our God, You have redeemed us from all lawlessness to make us holy before You. Accept our worship, for Jesus’ sake, Amen.

We hope to return to normal church services next Sunday. The online ‘service’ will continue, only the live-stream will move to 2pm and the sermon audio will only be uploaded afterwards. If you are able to come, please let one of the elders know so we can plan accordingly.

Our Heavenly Father,

We praise You for Your majestic holiness. You are truly set apart from all other; there is none like You. We praise You for being morally holy too. There is no flaw in You, and evil cannot dwell with You. You have used Your power and grace to cleanse us from our sin and make us holy too. Forgive us when we sin against You. Cleanse us from the defilement of sin. Free us from the guilt of sin. O Lord, if You would call to account each of our sins, we would not be able to stand before You, but with You there is forgiveness, that You may be feared, and loved, and worshipped.

Please be with us all. Heal the sick, comfort the downcast, encourage the weak, rebuke the sinful. Show us Your daily grace and favour. Make us trophies of Your goodness. As we live each day in this world, shine Your wisdom through us so that all may see Your view of this world, and so that all may be attracted to You and Your ways. You give us breadth each day, You feed us with food sufficient for each day, You are always near. Help us to use these daily grace as a daily reminder to walk humbly and thankfully before You, to speak of You with great joy and confidence, and never ever to go through a day without thought of You and Your glory.

We are mindful of our weaknesses, but confident in Your perfections. We are aware of our own limitations and human-ness, but trust in Your power and God-ness. We realise our dependence on You and pray that we will remain with what You have given us, and steadfast throughout this life.

Instil in us a hope for Heaven. We confess that so often we are so blinded by this world that we no longer see this world as You do. We confess that we are often so short-sighted in this life that we cannot even see beyond our most immediate troubles. But eternity is a long time, and we will live for all eternity. Give us that perspective. Make us see the best and worst that this world has for us as merely temporary, as mere instruments in shaping us for eternity. Give us a strong confident in You, Your Word and Your Spirit. May we be like a tree, planted by streams of water, yielding the fruit of the Holy Spirit for the benefit of all around us.

Thank You for the church that You have placed us in. Strengthen us in our unity, our fellowship, and our service to one another. Make us not only hearers of Your Word, but doers, who receive Your Word with eagerness, and who obey You with zeal. May we even consider last Sunday’s text, and again be reminded about our need of Truth, Holiness, and Fellowship. Forgive us where, even this past week, after the preaching of Your Word last Sunday, we still did not immerse ourselves in the Truth of Your Word each day, where we compromised our holiness, and where we neglected the special Christian greetings and love that You have called us to. As we are taught from Your Word again today, Lord, make us receptive and obedient. Give us wisdom for dealing with this life, and make us witnesses of Your ways among our families, friends, neighbours, and co-workers.

Please be with us throughout this lockdown too, and may all that we go through, become stories of Your goodness.

Be exalted in our worship, for Jesus’ sake, Amen.

Our Scripture reading today is 1 Peter 2:9-25. Read it out loud, and then ask God to help us all to live as we have been called to in those verses. Also thank Jesus for His example to us.

We have a YouTube playlist with songs the way we sing them at church. Use the playlist to become familiar with how we sing tot he Lord so we can join our voices in glad praises when the restrictions are lifted! (

Sing with joyful exaltation of our Lord Jesus!

Pray with us,

Our Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your son to come and be our Saviour. Thank you for His life on this earth, His death in our place, and His resurrection, confirming that our salvation is sure, and that we will be in joyful fellowship with Him for all eternity. Teach us now through Your Word, Amen.

Listen to the sermon live at 9:30 AM using this link: If you are unable to join us live, the sermon link below contains the sermon notes in reading format. The audio will be added after the live recording.
