Thank the Lord for the freedom given from next week for churches to meet. Pray that it will soon be viable for us too. Thank the Lord for the ministry we can do in the meantime in spite of our limited resources. Pray for one another by name as you think whom you would have spoken to had it been a ‘normal’ Sunday.

Welcome to Living Hope Baptist Church. We are gathered in spirit today to worship our Lord and our God.

Raise your thoughts to where Christ is, by singing along,

Pray with us,

We love you with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, for You are our Lord, You are our Saviour, You are our God. Amen.

  1. Unfortunately the permissions for places of worship to meet under Lockdown Level 3 does not make it possible for us to meet together yet. We trust that the Lord is fully aware of our venue and financial restrictions and will give us freedom to meet together soon again.
  2. Pray in particular for those among us who would best still stay at home due to health concerns, even when we do meet again.
  3. As long as we are under lockdown, our primary ministries will continue on WhatsApp and on the website. The Sunday sermon today will be available in PDF reading format and MP3 listening format. For those with additional internet accessibility, a live-stream home-group will be held on Thursday 7:15pm and a live-stream sermon on Sunday 9:30am.

Our Lord, You are our strength, our rock and our fortress, our deliverer and our saviour (Ps 18:1-2).

When we are in distress we always call our to You, for only You are worthy of our praise (Ps 18:3). Lord, there is truly not one kind of trouble that we face, which we cannot entrust to You for protection and help (Ps 18:4-5). You are the God who hears our prayers (Ps 18:6) and who has the ability to make all of nature turn on its head to serve Your purposes, and in particular to deliver us (Ps 18:7-17). You are our support because You have decided to delight in us (Ps 18:18-19). You delight in us because we know Your will and walk in Your righteousness (Ps 18:20-24).

To the merciful, You show Yourself merciful; with the blameless man You show Yourself blameless; with the purified You show Yourself pure; and Lord, with the crooked and wicked, You make Your anger burn (Ps 18:25-26), because You save a humble people, but the proud You destroy (Ps 18:27).

You are the light to our path and the spring in our step (Ps 18:28-29). There is no flaw in what You do and no falsehood in what You reveal to us (Ps 18:30). There is no one like You (Ps 18:31), enabling us in all we need to do (Ps 18:32-48) and for this we will praise you, O LORD, among all the nations, and sing Your name (Ps 18:49).

May Your Kingdom come (Ps 18:50), Amen.

Our Scripture reading today comes from Matthew 25:1-13. Read it out loud, then pray with us,

Our Lord and God, we long for the day in which Your Son comes again. It will be a wedding celebration like no other! Thank you that we know that Jesus is coming to come. Thank you that we know that He is going to come on the clouds to call us all, dead or alive, to Him. Thank you that we are no longer like the foolish in the world who are not ready, but by Your grace we have been made ready. We are informed. We are alert. We are expectant. Forgive us when we get side-tracked by the worries of this world, and by the passions of our flesh. Keep our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ. Keep our affections and our love fixed on Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus, come quickly, Amen.

Here is a playlist of some of the songs we normally sing. Use them to learn the songs, but for today, join us in singing these songs to the Lord in praise.

The next song is a new one, sing along as you are able, and with a pit of repetition over the next few weeks, we will all know it by the time we come together again!

Pray with us,

Thank you Lord, for giving us Your Son. Teach us now from Your Word about our Saviour’s return to earth as Judge. Stir us up to love and good deeds, clear our mind and thoughts, and bless the preaching of Your Word, for Jesus’ sake, Amen

Listen to the sermon live at 9:30 AM using this link: If you are unable to join us live, the sermon link below contains the sermon notes in reading format. The audio will be added after the live recording.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 “Not Surprised by the End Times” by Andrew Zekveld

Let’s respond to God’s Word, with appropriate praise!

Our benediction comes in the form of a closing prayer,

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer

Psalm 19:14 (ESV)
